TENNIS LESSON FAQs

Do I need to buy a tennis racquet?

Tennis players love their own racquets! We get it. However, it is STRONGLY suggested you wait to buy a racquet of your own  until after a few classes. Let us help you figure out the correct size and fit! We have plenty of racquets to use when starting out!

What should I wear?

Something comfortable to move in and relative to the time of year.  Hats or visors are great protection from the heat or to keep your head warm in the winter. Sunblock, sunblock, sunblock!

What about shoes?

Again, shoes that you can move in! No flip flops, sandals, high heels, boots, etc. In the beginning sneakers are fine. You may want to consider actual tennis shoes if you plan on playing a lot! They have the perfect soles to allow for movement on the court.

What else do I need to bring?

A big bottle of water and your wonderful personality! Tennis is fun!

What if I need to reschedule or cancel a lesson?

We understand plans change. Please review our Terms & Conditions for our cancellation policy.

In the event we cancel a class due to weather or coach availability we will either reschedule the lesson(s) or provide a full refund.

  • Please note: Schedules are subject to change and  we reserve the right to reschedule, combine or cancel a class due to lack of participation.

Are parents allowed on the tennis court with their student(s)?

For the safety of everyone, only the player(s) and coach are permitted on the tennis court. Parents are welcome to stay and watch your student(s) learn tennis. We do ask that you let us coach during the lesson. Tennis lessons will also include "I am a good sport behaviors":

  • Hug the racquet while waiting in line
  •  Cooperate with a partner
  •  Racquet high five after each game/practice
  •  Keep score out loud
  • Make clear and fair line calls
  • Compliment an opponent after a good shot

We also encourage parents to occasionally bring a book, find a spot in the park and let your student do their lesson on their own.
